In my previous blog post, I shared the breathtaking beauty and tranquility of Railay Beach. Now, it’s time to recount the enchanting experience of my three-day stay in Ko Phangan, along with an unforgettable day trip to the mesmerizing Ang Thong National Marine Park. Join me as I relive the moments of wonder, fun, and discovery with my dear friend Akash.
A Voyage Across the Vast Sea

Our journey began with an adventurous bus ride from Krabi Town to Thong Sala Pier in Ko Phangan. For the first time, we traveled across the vast sea on a large ferry, an exhilarating experience in itself. Upon arrival, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Phantip Market before renting a bike to reach our hotel, Coral Bungalows, situated approximately 11 km away from the pier. The hilly roads tested our resolve, but the heavenly views made it all worthwhile. The hotel impressed us with its affordability, delectable food, and warm hospitality, making us fall in love with the place.
A Beach Hotel Gem: Coral Bungalows

Coral Bungalows welcomed us with its budget-friendly accommodations, delectable food, and hospitable staff. The allure of this haven was so strong that we found ourselves captivated by the breathtaking sunset from lunch to dinner, spending hours mesmerized by the beauty of the beach.
OXA Beach Party: A Night of Uninhibited Revelry

Our first night in Ko Phangan took an unexpected turn when we stumbled upon the lively OXA beach party. Immersed in the pulsating rhythm of music and surrounded by an electric atmosphere, we danced and let our spirits soar till the wee hours of the morning.
Ang Thong National Marine Park Adventure

Despite the lack of sleep, we geared up early in the morning for a trip to Ang Thong National Marine Park. Our tour manager’s charisma added to the excitement of the day ahead. While some opted for kayaking, Akash and I chose to trek to the mountain top to witness the awe-inspiring view of the islands. The scenery was nothing short of a masterpiece, leaving us in disbelief at the natural wonders before our eyes. The trip was meticulously arranged, with scrumptious food, ensuring an unforgettable experience.
Exploring Ko Phangan’s Hidden Gems

With one more day left on the island, we decided to explore further and stumbled upon a hidden waterfall on the map. The bike ride to the waterfall was delightful, with coconut trees and lush jungle on either side.

As we ventured towards a hidden waterfall, we found a charming little shop tucked away in the verdant jungle. Welcoming us with a melodic tune, the blind man’s voice resonated with an innate sweetness that touched our souls. He exuded a genuine warmth and generosity that immediately made us feel at ease. As we spent time with him, we were inspired by his resilience and positive spirit despite life’s challenges. His humble shop became a haven of solace, where we sipped on coconut water and shared stories, connecting with a stranger in a profound and unforgettable way. This chance meeting left us with a profound appreciation for the beauty of human connection, a reminder that kindness and joy can be found in the most unexpected places.
One of the best Sunsets, Ever!

Returning to our hotel, we spent the evening basking in the beauty of the hotel’s beach. The sun setting over the horizon painted the sky with a myriad of colors, making it one of the most memorable sunsets of our lives.
Farewell, Ko Phangan: A Journey to Treasure
As our time in this enchanting part of Southeast Thailand drew to a close, we were overwhelmed by the splendor that surrounded us and the memories we had created. The beauty of Ko Phangan and the wonders of Ang Thong National Marine Park left an imprint on our souls, promising to be cherished for a lifetime. Though our journey was heading towards its conclusion with a brief stopover in Bangkok, the magic of this trip would forever linger in our hearts.
